My Perfect Pickleball Set Up

For starters I’d like to say that this is my perfect pickleball set up and a few things I learn along the way. Look out for a future post on the best way to build your own set up.

The first thing everyone starts with is the paddle. I went with a Selkirk Vanguard Power Air - Invikta for the power and spin. What I will say is the learning curve on this paddle was more difficult than I first realized. The sweet spot on the paddle is smaller than other paddles I tested. But the fun thing about this paddle is the first day I was using it I hit a ball so hard it broke on the court. The spin and power is unmatched but takes time to control it.

What I soon found after getting more invested into pickleball and playing more games is that I needed an upgrade on the shoes. I ended up going with the NikeCourt Air Zoom Vapor Pro 2 Men’s Hard Court Tennis Shoes. They are a little narrow but after a few matches they worn in nicely. You’ll need to check out Nikes website for pickleball shoes.

Later I upgraded the grip to a Hesacore Grip. I instantly loved the thicker grip and gave me better paddle control. I was surprised on how quickly I noticed a difference. It just shows how important it is to get a grip that works for you.

Here’s the Amazon link to the grip I purchased. I would highly recommend giving this a shot.

Lastly thing a person needs to do is find a fun group to play with!

Happy Dinging!
